Name: Ashé Carnove (Ah-she Car-no-vee)
Title: Magistra
Age: 28
Gender: Female
Race: Human
Nationality: Eshrevian
Anime: Original Character
Basis:: Fire Emblem (Very loosely, all locations referenced are my creation)
Appearance: Divided into Sub-Categories.
Picture for the unimaginative.
Weapons: Fencing Sword
History: Ashé Carnove's eventful life began on Eshreff, which at the time had a society that was notorious for the persecution of the noblewomen. Ashé's father, Vogan, had abused her as a kid, calling her a "vitagh", which to the Eshrevians, was a gold-loving, but evil, serpent. Common women in Eshreff had more rights in Eshreff then anywhere else, and Ashé was constantly jealous of this. At age twelve, Ashé and a friend attempted to escape from the islands of Eshreff, but they were picked up by Markenian slavers.
Ashé herself thinks of that as fortunate. If the Markenians had missed them, Ashé would probably have starved. While in Marken, Ashé was separated from her friend, and probably went under an alias, because there are no records of a "Carnove" being there. If her true identity was discovered, it would probably have been used as a bargaining chip with the Eshrevian people.
After two years, Ashé seduced and killed a guard with a kitchen knife and made her escape. It is believed that her escape was assisted by the legendary assassin Iron Hawk, although nobody really knows why. Supposedly, the noble Ashé had been working for owed Iron Hawk lots of money, but that is disputed.
She stowed away on a boat to Falstine, where she spent two years hiding in a bunker that one of her new friends, a young woman named Calam Aurius, had picked for her. Ashé, while in Falstine, dabbled with several forms of combat, and found that she was particularly good with magic. Taking an Aqua tome, she left Falstine for Galavin, and then to Kriskundo.
In Kriskundo, she met Ardico Nakram, who would be the first to succumb to her charming, unassuming personality. Ardico and Ashé spent almost a year treasure hunting, and the two had honed their battle skills side by side, ridding many a cave of monsters and many a town from local criminals.
Ashé realized after awhile that she was actually the one in charge, because Ardico seemed to always play putty into her hands. She took advantage of this and began searching for the magical tome, Cryliki, for it's historical significance.
Ardico, after awhile, began to suspect that Ashé was manipulating him, even though Ashé's intentions were not malevolent. He could not bring himself to run away from her and could not bring himself to say anything bad about her. One day while the two had made a particularly large find, Ashé commented that she could make herself an empress with the wealth. Ardico joked that her attraction for gold and shiny things surpassed the vitaghs of Eshreff. He didn't realize that the word, to Ashé, brought back painful memories of her father on Eshreff. In a murderous rage, Ashé killed Ardico, and showed no shame in doing so.
Ashé trusted her own instincts -- she could make an empress out of herself with the wealth acquired from treasure hunting. That's exactly what she did. After purchasing a run-down manor and ridding it of a few pesky ghosts, Ashé renovated it, making it a very dashing place -- even if it is surrounded by a haunted forest by all sides except the main gate...
But even then, she needed some form of income to sustain herself. A plan then developed in her mind. Ashé purchased a fleet of merchant ships and began transporting people and goods all across the globe. The company, called Carnove Enterprises, is well-known and well-respected. Ashé crowned herself Magistra of the company, which grew and grew, forcing her competitors out of buisness...
Personality: Ashé is somewhat paranoid, and inherited from her politician father the ability to conceal her true thoughts by way of exceptional control over her face.
She is also somewhat (OOC: UNDERSTATEMENT ALERT!!!) self-justifying -- and is charismatic enough to talk her way out of most fights she may get into. Then again, seeing as she can be called a member of the bourgeoisie, she doesn't do much fighting at all, and gets other people to do it for her.
Ashé is very selfish and is only interested in making herself happy. But this in itself can make her a very generous person -- as someone else's happiness may by extension make her happy. Whether this is in the form or a bribe to a nobleman to open ports for her merchant ships or in the form of making friends with people -- but as a rule, she is always suspicious of anyone too interested in her.
Usually she seems to carry an amused demeanor, and can be egotistical and stubborn at times.
Attacks: Various forms of magic. I'll add these at a later date, but I have very little intent on fighting...
Friends/Family: One thing sorely lacking in Ashé's life is true friendship. Many call in favors from her or ask her if she wants anything, but very few people actually call in on her to be friends -- and even then Ashé's suspicious nature makes friendship a very difficult thing.
While she does have a father in Vogan Carnove still alive, neither Ashé or Vogan has made a move to repair their fractured relationship, although both are aware of the other's existence.
RP sample:
Ashé sat on the balcony of her manorhouse, overlooking the main gate, where one of her hired guards was checking an invitation. Ashé knew who it was beforehand -- the Lord Garraway. She had asked to see him at her manorhouse for a business meeting when she was at the wedding of his eldest son.
Lord Garraway's son was a pompous bastard, but that didn't matter. Appearances were appearances, especially in the very political circles in which she traveled, and they were crucial to making herself more powerful and respectful.
All that power, what to do with it? Ashé thought, in a rare moment of inward thought.
Use it to make people's lives easier. The obvious answer came back to her.
Rising to her feet, she walked down the stairs, dressed in her trademark sleeveless purple tunic, red skirt, and white high boots. On her face was a welcoming smile, welcoming the Lord Garraway and his retainers for the evening.
Anything else you'd like to add: I'm not sure how easy it will be to RP with her around here... but I really like her as a character.
